Program Specialist Supervisor-Divison of Outreach and Training– This position serves as the Director of Outreach and Training for the Mississippi Department of Mental Health. The Division of Outreach and Training is responsible for connecting the Department of Mental Health with the community through partnerships that raise awareness of behavioral health and IDD programs. The Division is responsible for educating Mississippians on behavioral health and IDD services and supports; engaging in outreach and training initiatives to reduce stigma regarding mental health; implementing training programs for mental health professionals, providers and community members; and raising awareness of priority mental health issues around the state, including suicide prevention. The Program Specialist Senior is a supervisory position responsible for the administration of statewide programs, including supervising staff directly managing these programs. The position is accountable for managing program financial resources and assisting supervisor in determining needed regulations, policies, and procedures for programs under supervision. Program Specialist IV-Utilization Review–This position is available in the MS Department of Mental Health’s (DMH) Office of Utilization Review (OUR) which is part of the Bureau of Certification & Quality Outcomes. The OUR reviews the utilization of behavioral health services and intellectual and developmental disability services for state-operated programs and key community-based services to prevent unnecessary institutionalization and readmission prevention. The professional program support person will be accountable for a high complex degree of data collection, data mining, and statistical data reporting. Required skills of this position include but are not limited to the abilities of data: analyzation, aggregation, end user database skills, person-level data review, and the identification of trends pertinent to the delivery of mental health services of programs having statewide impact. The position will be responsible for various duties assigned as a member of the

Admin Support Specialist-Utilization Review–This position is available in the MS Department of Mental Health’s (DMH) Office of Utilization Review (OUR) which is part of the Bureau of Certification & Quality Outcomes. The OUR reviews the utilization of behavioral health services and intellectual and developmental disability services for state-operated programs and key community-based services to prevent unnecessary institutionalization and readmission prevention. This position will be supporting the OUR team in a fundamental administrative aspect with data collection/reporting, managing OUR phone calls, initially processing team travel, supply acquisition, scheduling aide for meetings/trainings/audits, and records management/development. Additional special required
skills needed in this position include working with data workbooks in excel and the ability to quickly learn software elements for report/data exportation. Admin Support Specialist IV-Developmental Disabilities Council– This position is available in the MS Council on Developmental Disabilities which is part of the Department of Mental Health Central Office. This position will be supporting the DD Council in an administrative capacity. This position is responsible for maintaining office files, managing front office desk responsibilities inclusive of answering the phone, greeting guests, ordering supplies or printing, submitting invoices, preparing letters and mailouts, and other general clerical work.
Additional specific duties will include scheduling meetings, drafting meeting agendas, gathering materials needed for meetings, and completing minutes from the meetings. Duties also include preparing travel authorization forms, arranging flights, preparing forms for reimbursements, corresponding with Council members, processing sponsorships for the conference, compiling data, editing the Mississippi Community Resource Directory and other related Council duties.
