Program Specialist IV (non-State Service)

 

This non-state service, time-limited position is available in the MS Department of Mental Health (DMH) Bureau of Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (BIDD). The incumbent will serve as a Program Specialist and will report directly to the Director of the ID/DD Waiver and provide oversight and monitoring of Support Coordination compliance of required procedures including drafting reports and approving compliance plans, track data and report on findings pertaining to ID/DD Waiver Recipients with significant behavioral/medical needs, respond to calls that are directed to BIDD from the DMH Switchboard and Helpline, assist the Division with the review of annual recertification packets for people enrolled in ID/DD Waiver, review programs and services certified by DMH through on-site reviews for compliance with DMH Operational Standards and HCBS Final Rule, provide technical assistance to providers, provide trainings to Support Coordinators statewide. Additional job duties may include assisting the division with public awareness events and managing data to reflect performance measures; and other duties as assigned. Statewide travel will be required.

Program Specialist III (State Service)

 

This position is available in the MS Department of Mental Health’s (DMH) Division of Crisis Response. 

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Reviewing programs and services certified by DMH through on-site reviews for compliance with DMH Operational Standards and other official regulations. • Responsible for written reports containing findings during on-site reviews. • Presenting findings from on-site reviews in group meetings. • Collaborating with other DMH staff as needed. • Occasional interaction with people receiving services who may have a mental illness, substance use disorder, and/or intellectual and developmental disorders. • Occasional travel required throughout the state with overnight stays on occasion.

Program Specialist IV (non-State Service)

 

This position is with the MS Department of Mental Health’s Bureau of Behavioral Health Services within the Division of Adult Services. The incumbent will serve as Program Specialist of Individual Placement and Support (IPS) and coordinator of certification (This is a Non-State, TIME-LIMITED (14) position).

This individual will be responsible for the following duties:

• Provide oversight and monitoring for Individual Placement and Support (IPS) programs statewide. • Conduct IPS fidelity/certification reviews; review policies, records, and compliance plans; draft Reports of Findings. • Receive, validate, track, and report required program data; follow up on missing/inaccurate submissions. • Provide program guidance and technical assistance to providers on standards, documentation, and performance. • Monitor and enforce monthly/annual reporting requirements, document noncompliance and follow-up actions. • Ensure compliance with all applicable private, state, and federal grant requirements and reporting. • Review and process monthly cash requests; verify allowable costs and proper use of grant funds. • Review provider RFP submissions and funding proposals; provide feedback and recommendations. • Review new provider policies/procedures for alignment with DMH Operational Standards. • Coordination of certification visit-related tasks in the Division of Adult Services • Coordinate, review, and offer correction for written reports containing findings from certification reviews. • Coordinate the compilation of staff’s written report of findings into a single report for submission to the Division of Certification following each certification visit. • Coordinate the Division of Adult Services responses to provider’s Plans of Compliance. • Review and offer corrective action necessary to provider’s applications for new services and programs to ensure they meet DMH Operational Standards or other official regulations. • Present findings from on-site certification reviews in group meetings, as needed. • Support DMH mission and represent Adult Services in internal/external meetings as needed. • Demonstrate reliability through punctual attendance, timely task completion, and prompt follow-up on all assigned tasks. • Perform other duties as assigned.
