Mississippi Joins Nation’s Leading Behavioral Health Platform, Network of Care
The Mississippi Department of Mental Health is proud to announce it is joining the nation’s oldest and largest behavioral health platform. As an innovative, web-based platform provided in partnership with the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors, the Network of Care for Behavioral Health will provide critical support and access to behavioral health resources for individuals, families, and service providers across Mississippi.
Network of Care offers an all-in-one digital hub that includes a statewide directory of services, educational resources, care coordination tools, and targeted support for the opioid crisis, suicide prevention, disaster relief, and more. With nearly 25 years of trusted service, Network of Care is currently active in 26 states with hundreds of localized sites across the country. The program is an approved expenditure under the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s Mental Health Block Grant. It is recommended to all grantees under the American Rescue Plan Act guidelines.
“One in five Mississippians has a mental illness, but our mental health is just one part of our overall health. We all experience times when we struggle, and it’s okay not to be okay. But when you’re not okay, you need to know how to connect to help,” said Wendy Bailey, Executive Director of the Mississippi Department of Mental Health, emphasizing the significance of the partnership. “The Network of Care will serve as a vital tool in ensuring that our residents can easily access the resources and support they need.”
The Mississippi Network of Care for Behavioral Health is expected to launch statewide by late summer or early fall, expanding access to vital services and transforming how communities across the state approach mental health.
