MS-WITS Documentation
The Mississippi Web Infrastructure for Treatment Services (MS-WITS) and InfoBridge / Data Warehouse (DWH) software systems are utilized by grant-funded DMH Certified Providers, DMH state-funded programs, and regional Community Mental Health Centers (CMHCs) to report behavioral health related client, treatment episode, and service event data to the Mississippi Department of Mental Health. DMH Certified Providers, who receive grant funding from DMH, have the option of either manually entering data into the Mississippi Web Infrastructure for Treatment Services (MS-WITS) software system or uploading data set files to the InfoBridge (Data Warehouse) software system as required by Rule 2.12 of the 2024 DMH Operational Standards. All DMH fee-for-service grant reimbursements are facilitated through the MS-WITS system via manual data entry of billable claims or via 837P file uploads (for Data Warehouse submitters) to maintain compliance with state and federal grant requirements.
The MS-WITS (Mississippi Web Infrastructure for Treatment Services) software system is utilized by any grant-funded DMH Certified Providers, DMH state-funded programs, and regional Community Mental Health Centers (CMHCs) to manually report client data, substance use & mental health treatment episode data, service events (client encounters), and billable claims data to DMH.
The MS-WITS system is also utilized for prevention planning and implementation, grant billing of reimbursable claims (specifically for DMH Fee-for-Service Grants reimbursement, excluding DOM or other funding sources), Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) assessment data reporting, and the reporting of Mobile Crisis Emergency Response Team (MCERT) client contacts.

InfoBridge / Data Warehouse (DWH) is the DMH central data repository in which client, treatment episode, and service event data sets are uploaded, stored, and utilized for state and federal reporting. Treatment data that is manually entered into the MS-WITS production system is automatically transferred into the Data Warehouse system on a daily basis. DMH Certified Providers must have an internal functioning EHR/EMR software system in place and configured according to DMH data reporting requirements prior to utilizing the Data Warehouse for data set file uploads. Third-party EHR/EMR software vendors may email ehrhelpdesk@dmh.ms.gov for technical assistance. Providers who are unable to successfully upload data set files to the Data Warehouse will be required to manually enter the data into the MS-WITS production system.
